MP welcomes green Severn barrage plans

A TWO-YEAR feasibility study into a Severn barrage and other options for power generation in the Severn Estuary has been welcomed by Vale of Glamorgan MP John Smith.
The preferred Welsh location for the Severn Barrage is Lavernock Point in Sully.
Mr Smith said: “I welcome the announcement. In the light of the growing body of evidence that climate change is already with us, we can’t ignore the enormous potential power that could be harnessed in the Severn Estuary.”
