Welsh theatre group in Vale

ONE of the leading Welsh language theatre groups is to stage its latest production in Barry.

The organisation that promotes the Welsh language in the Vale of Glamorgan, Menter y Fro, has tempted a leading theatre company to perform in the Vale.

The Arad Goch theatre group will perform its production of Mwnci ar Dan (Burning Monkey) at Ysgol Gyfun Bro Morgannwg, Colcot Road, Barry, next Monday, at 7.30pm.

Mwnci ar Dan is a new play by Sera Moore Williams dealing with the lives of young people. The drama raises issues about responsibilities, and particularly becoming a parent.

Nerys Rhys, Menter y Fro development officer, said: “You’ll get an hour of theatre with live music, right on your doorstep.

“Normally, you would have to travel to Cardiff to see theatre of this standard.”

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £4 for school pupils or senior citizens. They available from Menter y Fro on 01446 720600, e-mail swyddfa@menteryfro.com
