Vale council offers anti-flooding bags

SANDBAGS to help Vale of Glamorgan residents protect their houses from possible flooding are now available.
The Vale council has a limited supply of 1,000 sandbags at its Court Road depot in Barry. They will be given only to homes at greatest risk.
Residents can pick up a maximum of 15 sandbags each from the depot on a first come, first served basis. Proof of identity and address will be required. The council plans to organise an information event this year when flood prevention measures, including, for example, flood doors and changes in garden design, will be highlighted.
