A GROUP of probation officers have donated £358 to the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil after taking part in a charity run.
Nine officers from Gwent Police completed the Adrian Ellis Memorial Cross Country Run to raise the cash for the Chest Unit Research Fund.
Runners from police forces and running clubs across the UK take part annually in the six-mile run and this year saw 70 entrants sweat it out.
The event has been held every year since 1990 in memory of police officer Adrian Ellis who died in a crash on his way to work in September, 1989.
He was a an officer in the motorcycle section and aged just 29 when he died.
