Buildings are nominated for the ‘property Oscars’

THREE South Wales projects are in the running for the “property Oscars”.

A school in Caerphilly, an historic building in Bridgend and a Cardiff university building have been nominated for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors awards in Wales. The outdated Ysgol Ifor Bach, Caerphilly, was transformed into a state-of-the-art school.

The restoration of 10-12 Dunraven Place, Bridgend, has been nominated after the building’s original features were restored.

The School of Optometry and Vision Sciences at Cardiff University is nominated for sustainability and community benefit awards. The projects will be judged this summer.
