TALENTED young musicians will be blowing their own trumpets again this year in a bid to clinch the coveted Caerphilly County Borough Schools’ Young Musician of the Year title.
Young hopefuls will be eager to show off their talent before judges at Blackwood Miners Institute during the annual competition on March 8.
Adjudicators will assess the talent of the 150 youngsters during the day’s preliminary classes and the winners in each of the five musician classes – piano, singing, strings, woodwind and brass – will then fight it out for the overall Young Musician of the Year 2008 title during the evening’s final.
Admission to the event is free during the day and £3 for the final.
Tickets are available from Blackwood Miners Box Office 01495 227206.
