Murder case: man in court

A MAN is due to appear before Caerphilly Magistrates this morning charged with murder.

The 45-year-old was charged following the discovery of the body of John Brian Stokes on Sunday at a house in Bedwellty Road, Cefn Forest, near Blackwood.

Mr Stokes, aged 33, not 43 as previously reported, is said to be from Hengoed.

This morning Mr Stokes’ family paid tribute to him through a police statement.

They said: “John was a good son, father, boyfriend, brother, uncle and liked by so many friends.

“He will be sadly missed by us all, his family are thinking of him at this sad time.”

Mr Stokes’ girlfriend Sandra said: “John was a loving dad and father-to-be who was cherished by those close to him and will be dearly missed.”

The coroner has been informed and a post-mortem was due to be carried out.
