FIRE crews from Merthyr Tydfil were struck twice by hoax callers.
The malicious calls came within hours of each other and claimed there were fires at Pen-y-Dre High School on the Gurnos Estate.
The first call was made at 7pm from a phone box near the school.
Firefighters attended but found there was no fire. A second call came at about 10am after alarms were activated within the building.
After checking the premises crews found damaged glass on an emergency fire alarm and an emergency door left open.
The two calls are not thought to be related.
Anyone with information about the hoax calls should call South Wales Fire Service on 01443 232000.
