HUNDREDS of children from Caerphilly county will learn environmental lessons at a special five day “Eco-Challenge” event being held next month.
The Eco Challenge aims to promote sustainable development and global citizenship to both staff and pupils, showing them how they can look after the planet.
The pupils will take part in a variety of hands-on practical workshops focused on a range of “green” subjects such as dealing with waste, transport issues, global citizenship and environmental education.
Around 450 children, aged 9 to 10 are expected to take part in the event at the Oasis Centre, Blackwood.
The Eco-Challenge event is being organised by Caerphilly council in partnership with Keep Wales Tidy.
