Former policeman to tackle NHS violence

A FORMER senior police officer has been named as a champion to help the NHS tackle violence against staff.

David Francis, the former deputy chief constable, will oversee a raft of new measures to prevent attacks and prosecute offenders.

Mr Francis, who is chairman of Cwm Taf NHS Trust and the all-Wales violence and aggression champion, said: “NHS staff are our most valuable asset. They come to work because they want to improve life for patients and carers. They deserve our full support and protection.”
