No sign of internet conman
ANGRY online shoppers are still hunting for a Cardiff businessman who failed to deliver their Christmas presents in time.
After the Echo revealed that the furious customers had been left high and dry after ordering Nintendo Wiis and Playstation games from Cardiff-based internet firm Bizits.co.uk, we have been contacted by more scam victims.
Some customers, who paid for goods through independent transaction brokers Paypal, have received refunds, but the absent goods still spoiled Christmas.
Brenda Smith, of Rhos on Sea, North Wales, who ordered Christmas presents for her grandchildren in November, said: “I have still not had any reply to my e-mails or telephone messages.
“Thankfully I paid through Paypal and they have told me that I will have my money back, but the presents never came.”
The company’s website, which has addresses in Cumnock Terrace, Splott, and Jim Driscoll Way, Grangetown, is registered to a John Murphy and when the Echo tried to track him down at both addresses and by e-mail he was unavailable.
Another anonymous e-mail read: “I have been a victim of John Murphy and Bizits.
“The items I ordered never arrived before Christmas and my children were left very disappointed.”
On hotukdeals.com a user called Sleekvonny wrote: “I thank God I only ordered a game costing £27.99.
“I have e-mailed and left messages etc but to no avail. I have raised a dispute through Paypal and this will be resolved on December 31.
“I will report it to the police, trading standards and Watchdog.”
South Wales Police and Consumer Wales are investigating the company.
