SWANSEA City players and fans are celebrating the League One championship tonight - despite losing to Yeovil. The Liberty Stadium erupted at the final whistle after news filtered through of rivals Carlisle's defeat at Southend, leaving the defeated Swans mathematically clear of the rest of the division. But frustrated fans bit their fingernails after Yeovil went ahead with goals from Terry Skivington and Aiden Hughes's either side of half time. Andy Robinson scored to put the home side back into the game with 13 minutes remaining, but by then jubilant fans were already celebrating making their long awaited return to the higher echelons of the football league. | |
