Former Bluebirds making Ninian Park return

NEWPORT County bring a wealth of Bluebirds’ experience with them to Ninian Park this evening.

Assistant manager Scott Young, who is now Football in the Community manager at Cardiff City, plus ex-Bluebirds’ players Damon Searle, Lee Fowler, Lee Jarman, Jason Bowen, Steve Jenkins and James Simpson have all spent part of their careers at Ninian Park.

They have made almost 900 first team appearances between them for the Bluebirds – and scored more than 60 goals.

Newport, currently pressing for promotion from Conference South, and Cardiff City are battling for a minimum £50,000 tonight.

That’s the minimum tonight’s winners will earn – with £100,000 on offer for the competition winners.
