Martyrs seal safety

MERTHYR TYDFIL secured their place in the BGB Southern League Premier Division for next season after a 3-0 win over lowly Cirencester at Penydarren Park last night.

The Martyrs struggled to break down the visitors until a salvo of three goals in seven second-half minutes sealed the outcome.

Andrew Thomas broke the deadlock in the 65th minute before Mike Jones netted twice, the first from the penalty spot.
