Martyrs storm back for season-best win

Merthyr Tydfil 4-1 Brackley

A GOAL down after 20 minutes, Merthyr produced a sparkling comeback to earn a comfortable win.

Sixth-placed Brackley had gone ahead after an error by home goalkeeper Ashley Morris allowed Russell Dunkley to head into an empty net but Merthyr were level within five minutes when Marcus Griffiths capitalised upon some hesitation in the Brackley defence and smashed the loose ball past a helpless Tom Willshire.

Just two minutes later Merthyr were ahead, a free-kick nodded across goal by Gareth Warton for Steve Williams to rifle home from the edge of the box.

Merthyr were dominant after the break and added further goals from Mike Jones Matthew Harris.
