Fergie full of praise for Giggs
SIR ALEX FERGUSON last night paid tribute to record-breaker Ryan Giggs after his Welsh wonder sealed a 10th Premiership title with the second goal in Manchester United’s 2-0 win at Wigan.
Giggs celebrated equalling Sir Bobby Charlton’s United appearances record by moving clear of Liverpool’s Phil Neal as the man with most league titles.
Ferguson said: “It’s an incredible achievement. For our oldest player to score a goal of such importance underlines just what a special player he has been for United.”
Giggs, who now aims to play his 759th United game in the Champions League final against Chelsea, said: “Every one of these Premiership titles means more and more to me.”
