Eastwood set to leave Wolves

WALES hot-shot Freddy Eastwood has been slapped on the transfer list by his club Wolves.

The move comes just 12 months after what was purported as a dream £1.5million move turned sour, with Eastwood barley getting a game.

The Wales ace, who has shone at international level while his Wolves woes have continued, will seek a new club in time for the 2010 World Cup campaign.

Eastwood said: "I need regular football if I’m to get a place in the Welsh team for the coming qualifiers.

"I really like playing for Wales and I know that to be at my sharpest for my country, I need to be playing regularly with Wolves."

Midlands rivals Coventry are said to be favourites to land Eastwood’s signature, with their Welsh boss Chris Coleman a known admirer of his goal scoring prowess.

But a number of clubs will be alerted to Eastwood’s sudden availability, despite his flop at Wolves.

Molineux manager Mick McCarthy said: "I’ve had a discussion with Freddy and he will be made available for transfer."
