Heolgerrig SC concede 200th goal of season

HEOLGERRIG SC’s Division One clash at Baili Glas was the only one in the top two divisions to survive the bad weather – and they probably wished it hadn’t.

For the visitors found themselves on the wrong end of an 8-0 drubbing – a result which saw them concede their 200th league goal of the season and, perhaps predictably, remain bottom of the table.

Gavin Davies led the hosts’ onslaught with four goals, the others coming from Ashley Facey (2), Kyle Pugh and Ross Hopson.

Llanbradach Youth took their place in the Taff Rhymer Cup final as three second-half goals against Penydarren BC A cancelled out Jarrad Jenkins’ earlier effort.

In the Under-16 Division, goals from Daniel Guittierez and Daniel Thomas couldn’t prevent Georgetown BC B slipping to a 3-2 defeat at Treharris Western.

Daniel Potts’ hat-trick was the highlight of Troedyrhiw BC’s 8-0 Under-14 Division victory at Merthyr Saints B.

The visitors, who led 3-0 at the interval, added further goals through Christian Lineham (2) Matthew Nicholas, Josh Powell and Luke Davies.

And in the Under-12 Division goals from Bleddyn House, Rhys Brook and Calum Galleozzie gave Pentrebach FC three more points in their quest for the title as they beat Baileys 3-0.
