Cardiff City full-pelt for play-offs

DAVE Jones has put Cardiff City’s play-off charge before FA Cup glory at Wembley by vowing the Bluebirds will be at “full-pelt” against West Bromwich Albion tomorrow night.

The City manager dismissed suggestions he will rest players ahead of the clash with Barnsley at Wembley.

And Jones, whose side could go just three points off the play-offs with victory against the Baggies, stressed it is important his side develop a winning habit to aid their cause in all competitions.

“Saving players for different games does not work out,” said Jones.

“I have learnt that you have to go out full-pelt every time and then worry about the following game afterwards.

“You have to go for it every game, I have never done it any differently.

“If I had 25-35 players at my disposal then things might be different, but that isn’t the case.

“The lads have talked about how we have a massive week coming up.

“We’ve got West Brom, the semi-final and then Ipswich as well.

“If we can get three wins, all of a sudden the season is going to take off.”

Jones and his players had light workouts yesterday at their training base at the Vale of Glamorgan resort, following Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Southampton.

And the troubled right back position appears to be becoming clearer.

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey filled in on Saturday with both Darcy Blake and Kevin McNaughton out injured.

But McNaughton trained yesterday and could feature tomorrow night against Albion.
