Title tilt on hold for Prestatyn Town

PRESTATYN Town, who could have won the Cymru Alliance title yesterday were frustrated by a postponement at Penrhyncoch, because of a waterlogged pitch.

They had company with their frustrations as four other fixtures did not happen, including Bala Town v Flint Town, for a third against fifth showdown.

Glantraeth were in action and registered their fourth straight win, beating Guilsfield at home 4-2, having dominated 3-0 before half time.

A Gerallt Jones double on 10 and 15 minutes set up the hosts and Paul Tilbury and Jonathan Peris Jones followed up, ahead of replies from Simon Edwards (penalty) and Tim Nunnerley.

Llandyrnog Utd netted three goals in four minutes late in the first half on the way to a 3-2 win over Mynydd Isa with Neil Hughes on target after 36 minutes, Mark Roberts after 39 and Adam Lloyd after 40.

Ruthin Town had their 2-1 win over Gresford Athletic wrapped up before the break as goals from Mike Davies on 27 minutes and Wil Roberts on 40 were enough, despite Owain Roberts’s response on 42.
