What the managers say
John Toshack - Wales boss
“WE’RE pleased with the result, obviously.
Luxembourg worked very, very hard and anything they lacked in technique they made up for in work-rate.
There were a number of players there for us who, fitness-wise, were a little bit short, there’s no question about that.
But bearing in mind the changes we’ve had to make, we’re pleased with the result. There were some positive things there, but there were also things that we would have liked to have done a little better.
It’s difficult to come to a place like this. There are 10 men back behind the ball, and at times you look as though you’re over-elaborating.
There are aspects of these games that are harder than playing the Germans or Italians.
But we must congratulate Luxembourg, because they never stopped and just didn’t have that luck in the final third.”
