YMCA bank league points as they show they’re up for the cup

NEWPORT YMCA prepared for their forthcoming Welsh Cup showdown with Bangor by coming from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at Maesteg Park.

Daniel Nash gave Maesteg the advantage after 25 minutes, but a minute later Leighton Burrows levelled matters and a Daniel Heath header in the closing stages gave the YMCA the points.

Ton Pentre’s title hopes were dealt a blow when they lost 2-0 at home to Dinas Powys. Jason Cowan scored the first Dinas goal and there was an own goal.

A Chris Pearce goal gave Caerleon a 1-0 win at home to Cwmbran.
