Llangefni Town 3-0 Aberystwyth
TWO goals by Darren Thomas and another made by the teenager enabled basement outfit Llangefni Town to grab a lifeline in their relegation struggle.
Beaten 3-0 at Aberystwyth Town in November, the Anglesey hopefuls earned precious points as the season’s drama reaches a climax.
The mid-Wales visitors enjoyed lots of possession in the game’s first quarter without penetrating Llangefni’s box.
Then, on 19 minutes, the hosts staged one of a series of menacing breaks to set up Thomas out on the left and his cross-cum-shot was finished off by Chris Jones from 12 yards.
Llangefni were superb in counter-attacks and, on 39 minutes, Thomas added the second goal from a left angle.
The situation concluded in Llangefni’s favour on 90 minutes thanks to Thomas, who directed a 15-yarder from an angle on the left past Aberystwyth’s Dave Jones.
