HEREFORD’S 12th away win of the season not only equals their best ever League campaign, it also ensures their promotion hopes continue to burn bright.

Gary Hooper, with the seventh goal of his loan spell, and an own goal by defender Martin Roberts, ensured United’s latest success.

Hereford had plenty of chances to get a firm grip on the game in the first period.

Shejill MacDonald was particularly unlucky as United played some good football.

The Dutch Under-21 international saw one powerful effort well saved by keeper Kenny Arthur and then had another shot kicked off the line by Philip Edwards.

The Bulls first-half dominance was rewarded, though, two minutes before the break when Hooper swept in a Simon Johnson cross.

Stanley made a lively start to the second period, but found their good work undone when defender Roberts’ back-pass crossed the line.
