CARDIFF City boss Dave Jones will interrupt his semi-final FA Cup plans and cast his eye over Bournemouth striker Sam Vokes at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow.
The Echo understands that while the Bluebirds make their way to their London hotel after a light training session, Jones will be heading the opposite way to watch Swansea City play The Cherries.
Vokes has also attracted the attention of Wales manager John Toshack as Vokes’ grandfather was born in Colwyn Bay.
The Southampton-born 18-year-old jumped at the chance of international football and has scored four goals in seven appearances for Wales Under-21s.
“I only found out at the start of last season that I was even eligible to play for Wales,” said Vokes.
“My grandad is delighted, but I must admit I didn’t even realise he was Welsh until the start of last season – I’ve only ever known him support England!”
