Zarate geting popular with his pals

BIRMINGHAM’S Mauro Zarate is suddenly proving a popular chap among his friends in Argentina.

It seems the 21-year-old was short of visitors when he was playing for Al-Sadd in Qatar, with its strict licensing laws.

Now, though, Zarate is preparing to host an influx of pals from South America having moved to a flat just 300 yards from Birmingham’s party central, Broad Street.

“It is incredible,” said Zarate, marvelling at the cultural differences between the Middle East and Britain.

“Every night people are out drinking and the girls wear so little clothes.

“My brother and some friends are coming over soon and there might not be enough room for them all to sleep. But I think they’ll stay out all night anyway.”
