City are given a mole’s eye view of key court case

A LONDON-based Cardiff City fan, who calls himself ‘1927 Club Mole’, popped along to the High Court this week.

He sat in as £24m loan-note holders Langston and Cardiff City FC went head-to-head.

The fan sent an e-mail to Ninian Park and said: “Judge Michael BriggsThe judge said he hoped to give his judgement ‘by the end of term’ and it was explained this meant by Wednesday.

“The tone of the judge towards Cardiff City’s counsel was quite positive, whereas he was far more questioning of the Langston counsel.

“In his rebuttal, Langston’s counsel attempted to make various legal arguments about the principles of waivers, variations, novations and terminations of legal documents.

“At various points, the judge interjected and questioned his arguments to which counsel appeared unable to provide a robust answer.

“Based on my layman’s view I would say Langston’s counsel was not convincing in his rebuttal of City’s submissions.

“It all seemed to go well for the club.

“But you never know with the law!”

Forde gets green light to continue life with Cherries
DAVID Forde has been given the go-ahead to make a third appearance for AFC Bournemouth tomorrow.

Relegation-threatened Bournemouth are in administration – and the Football Association will only allow Forde to stay with the South Coast club on a week-by-week basis.

Irishman Forde even had an initial loan spell turned down by the FA after he had set off in his car for the drive from South Wales to Bournemouth.

He was then banned from joining Dundee United on loan because he had already appeared in two separate countries – both for Cardiff City, in the Championship and FAW Premier Cup.

That was deemed as playing in England and Wales – and players cannot then move to a third country.

He is now with the ailing Cherries and played against Leeds United and Oldham Athletic away, both 2-0 defeats.

Forde's stay has now been extended for another week – and that takes in Yeovil at home.

Cardiff City are willing to let Forde stay longer, but the FA insist that Bournemouth produce weekly medical certificates showing their senior goalkeepers, Neil Moss (broken wrist) and Gareth Stewart (broken ankle), are both still injured. Apart from Forde, rookie Ryan is the only fit ’keeper at the club.

Browned-off boss
PHIL Brown was emotionally charged during Cardiff City’s Championship clash with Hull City.

His team have charged up the table and Brown is showing signs the stress is getting to him.

He jumped about in the technical area, kicking out wildly when things didn’t go well and arguing with the fourth official.

He was heard to yell ‘get physical’ at his players and was fired up for the whole 90 minutes.

Unfortunately, it didn’t do Brown or Hull any good and they went home beaten 1-0.

Airborne City
CARDIFF City flew to Southend airport to cut back on the journey from South Wales to Essex.

They could have landed at Stansted, but Southend is a touch closer to Colchester and easier to access for the team coach.

The squad arrived early yesterday evening and fly back immediately after the match.
