Welcome to this months edition of the expats newsletter.
The musical summer season is in full swing in Wales, Rod Stewart wowed the fans at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday night, Katherine Jenkins delighted a home crowd at Margam Park on the weekend, with Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts putting in a guest appearance - his first since winning the TV competition.
And if that wasn’t enough, this weekend sees the opening of the prestigious Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. This year’s offering has been hailed as a true feast for the senses. Topping the bill are the likes of Jose Carreras, Katherine Jenkins, Hayley Westenra and Joan Baez to name but a few. This world-renowned festival of music, song and dance runs from the 10th-15th of July and promises to have something for everyone!
So without further adieu, here is this month’s bumper list of Welshness…
This month: The story of the Welshman who became a Canadian hero, a school science project could be worth a fortune and how sophisticated marketing has changed the face of Welsh tourism.
Also this month: Welsh joins Navajo and Breton as the coolest languages on the internet, Green technologies may herald the rebirth of coal mining and a present to the National Library discloses the story of Lloyd George’s adviser who flew with Hitler and exposed Stalin’s catastrophic famine.
If you are planning a trip back to old backyard around the weekend of August 11th and 12th.The Bodelwyddan Medieval Festival will be in full swing and promises to have something for one and all!
For all the latest news from the Bluebird's Down Under (BDU).
