Newsletter No.66

January, 8 2007

by Mike Caluan

Happy New Year and welcome to this months edition of the expats newsletter.

We kick off the New Year filled with anticipation and excitement for the forthcoming Six Nations tournament!

Again this year it’s an open title race. Our boys are in with a fighting chance, so too are the French or could it be the luck of the Irish that will win the day? England and Scotland can’t be underestimated either. All in all it’s just the perfect recipe for getting together with friends and family, having a few beers and a lot of good clean fun! Bring it on...!

We’ll be keeping a close eye on events and don’t forget you can catch up with all the latest news, stats and fun with rugbynation. Where are you watching Wales play? Send in your pictures and tales of where you watched our boys play!

All this rugby hysteria is only clouded by the sad passing of cartoonist Gren, who died earlier this month at age 72. Tributes and messages of condolence have been flooding in… heaven is now a richer place.

This month: Good times keep getting better for Wales rich, how Welsh workers are staying put as lifestyle lightens load and the Western Mail has provided a window on Wales for 137 years.

On a nostalgic note… Dahl story re-released to honour war heroes, a retro report tells how hundreds salute champ Dai Dower and on this day in January.

So until next month take care, have wonderful New Year! - enjoy the Expats newsletter and for all the latest in global events take a look at Carwyn's list.

Don't forget to check out the Expats Changing Wales and Expats Nostalgia sections for regular updates on what's going on.

Keep those articles and stories coming in, let me know what you're getting up to over the festive season, where you'll be spending it? You can send them to me at mike.caluan@wme.co.uk
