Newsletter No.65

December 4th 2006

by Mike Caluan

Welcome to this months festive edition of the expats newsletter.

As you can imagine, the decoratively lit streets of the capital are buzzing with shoppers looking for that allusive bargain and special present.

I just love this time of year... You know the Christmas festive spirit, spending time with family and friends, the office party… the whole event! Fingers crossed I’ll be fortunate enough to get the chance to kickback and enjoying the season to be jolly (but somehow I doubt it!).

So without further ado here's the latest news from in and around your old backyard.

This month: Wales tops house-price-rise league, St Athan in South Wales looks to land a 6,000 job MoD deal and how our Oggy! chant 'came from Cornwall'.

Also, Local historian Brian Lee taps into wealth of Cardiff stories, criminal past finally links superstar Sarandon to Wales and we take a nostalgic look at ‘on this day in December’.

So until next month take care, have wonderful Christmas and a fantastic New Year! - enjoy the Expats newsletter and for all the latest in global expats events take a look at Carwyn's list.

Don't forget to check out the Expats Changing Wales and Expats Nostalgia sections for regular updates on what's going on.

Keep those articles and stories coming in, let me know what you're getting up to over the festive season, where you'll be spending it? You can send them to me at mike.caluan@wme.co.uk
