Welcome to this months edition of the expats newsletter.

Job-seekers have been turning in their droves to icWales' recruitment websites this summer, bucking a long-time trend of job-hunting being quiet during the summer holiday period. This has been attributed to foreign workers and also to expats returning home. More…

Don’t forget if you have any stories of life as an expat or maybe you made a special visit back to the homeland… drop me a line, with a few pics if possible, and I’ll make sure everyone gets to hear about it.

So, without further ado here's the latest news from in and around your old backyard.

This month: Gareth Edwards returns to the international rugby 'field'. The new Cardiff City football stadium misses it’s deadline and an eco-friendly bridesmaid’s incredible journey.

Also, Remember Avana Bakery? The home of one of Cardiff’s famed cake makers has become yet another victim of the city’s redevelopment scheme. On a nostalgic note, Swansea’s reputaion as the ‘copper king’ is set to shine again and finally a famous old watering hole that was lost in the mists of time is to be given a new lease of life.

So until next month take care, enjoy the expats newsletter.

Don't forget to check out the Expats Changing Wales and Expats Nostalgia sections for regular updates on what's going on.

Keep those articles and stories coming in, let me know what you've been getting up to. You can send them to me at mike.caluan@wme.co.uk
