Welcome to Newsletter No.14

Sep 17 2002 Mike Caluan

Welcome to expats club newsletter fourteen.

Autumn is nearly upon us and here in Wales we are experiencing an Indian summer. The days are getting shorter and as the long shadows dance around the streets filled with café bars, restaurants and pubs that are still reaping the benefits of the fine weather.

Cardiff has changed so much during the last ten years that we wonder whether expats would still recognise the capital. Have you been to Cardiff or anywhere in Wales in recent times? What changes have you seen? Drop us a line and tell us about your experiences.

This month we take a look at what happened to Sophia Gardens and its Pavilion, Greyfriars Road gets a face-lift, Ian Stewart tells us about life in Canada and Gethin kicks-off the rugby season with a look at recent developments. Andy and myself explore the Welsh pop scene looking at bands making a splash in the US and the Cardiff-based television company, Al Fresco, make a new series for HTV called 'Welsh down under'.

Don't forget to keep sending us your emails, telling us about old friends that you've caught up with, what you've been up to and let us know if there's something that you would like to see in the expats section. - email expats.
