Energy-saving firm rebrands itself as Enica

ENERGY savings consultancy EnSave has undergone rebranding after two years of trading.

Launched in 2006, Treforest- based EnSave will now be known as Enica.

The business helps companies save money on energy and water bills, and its founders say the new identity will “better match the outstanding success of the business in its first year”.

Enica seeks large financial and environmental savings for its clients who range from colleges to factories and office premises.

Run by business partners Bryan Mullen and David Harden, the company needed a new name to fit in with its growing portfolio and a range of new innovative smart- metering products being launched.

Mr Mullen said, “The business has grown rapidly over the past 12 months and we wanted a name and a brand that was ambitious and would allow the company to grow in the various directions to fit our clients’ needs whilst still allowing the innovation of new products.

“The name Enica incorporates the energy savings side of our work but gives us a much broader base from which to work.”

Installation and monitoring of remote smart-metering systems has been a key growth area for the company over the past year.

Unlike most other energy and water meters, Enica systems read the meters 24-hours-a-day. Typical installation takes less than 15 minutes per meter and they do not require any disruption to the infrastructure of a building when they are installed.

The device is put in place and uses a mobile phone signal to transmit readings back to the client and the Enica team who then carry out an evaluation.

Mr Harden explained, “This wireless system of metering water and energy consumption is the perfect solution for companies and organisations who want to cut down on their bills without the disruption of having to wire in meters to all of their energy consuming outputs.

“We don’t suffer from any IT firewall or virtual private network issues typical of hard-wired metering systems. Our devices take minutes to install.”

One client which has seen savings as a result of Enica’s systems is Coleg Morgannwg which has had meters installed across its four main campuses. Martin Donovan, assistant estates manager for the college, said, “We’ve focused on reducing out-of-hours wastage and the Enica approach has delivered some great financial results, reducing our bills.”
