CWMBRAN and Cardiff-based solicitors, Rubin Lewis O’Brien, has strengthened its conveyancing team with the addition of a newly qualified licensed conveyancer.
Following her qualification, Cheryl Preece, from Pontypool, will be responsible for dealing with all aspects of conveyancing for clients who are re-mortgaging or moving, and ensuring the legal process with estate agents and solicitors is as smooth as possible.
Ms Preece has more than 25 years’ experience, including two spells at Rubin Lewis O’Brien spanning 15 years, as both a conveyancing secretary and a conveyancing team leader and superviser. She has also spent time as a conveyancing assistant for Davies and Joseph solicitors.
She has spent the past 3½ years completing a series of legal exams on land and contract convey-ancing, accounts, and landlord and tenant law to qualify as a licensed conveyancer and commissioner for oaths, enabling clients to swear statutory declarations and oaths in relation to wills or grants of probate in her presence.
Jerome O’Brien, managing partner at Rubin Lewis O’Brien, said: “Cheryl has been a truly loyal and committed member of staff during her time at the firm and we are delighted she has bolstered our conveyancing team as a qualified residential property lawyer.
“Her experience with the company will undoubtedly stand us in good stead for the future.”
